Having just moved to Aiken, I thought it was time to check out the local thrift and consignment stores. I began with the Salvation Army on Whiskey Road. After dropping off a load of tschochke the previous owners of our house left behind, I perused the store. Their clothing selection is average and a bit on the frumpy side, but they do have an extensive selection of jeans and a rack of nursing scrubs, which I hadn’t seen before in a thrift store. They also have a $1 t-shirt bin where you might find a good gag gift or vintage treasure.
My lucky find was this silver Pierre Cardin sweater set, which should make nice separate pieces for not-too-dressy/not-too-casual evening wear. Those plus the children’s book only set me back $5.53.
